You're right that you ca...I feel for you, Jane. You're right that you can be grateful yet unhappy at the same time. Isn't that life? Blended families are complicated and your new Hubby is still likely trying to find his place with you and the girls. I agree, you shouldn't have to be alone attending everything and it would mean a lot to the girls to have him at some of their events. Have you told your hubs about your wishes? Don't be afraid to tell him exactly what you want...that was always a mistake in my marriage. I didn't communicate my true feelings enough. You're strong though and doing amazing!
