My ex has sim...I think you handled this like a pro. My ex has similar problems with my husband - he's told the kids various things to protect his territory. (Yes, I just compared him to a dog pissing on things). The kids were almost 3 and 5 1/2 when we got together, and they've always called him by his first name - hubs wouldn't have it any different. And now when we're out, if someone "mistakenly" refers to him as their dad, my daughter corrects and says no, that's not my dad. That's my (insert name here).
